Product Review

We've been testing a new full-size electric scooter! The President of our company and a Product Manager currently reside in China and have been thoroughly testing an electric scooter that we think you're going to like! Powerful, simple, functional design and user friendly controls offer one of the better models we've come across.

The construction of the scooter is very solid. It has nice welds, a reinforced rear swing arm and minimal plastic. We discovered this scooter at the Spring 09' Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China.

A big advantage has been having good communication with the manufacturer and their willingness to make changes based off our input.

After riding this scooter through Chinese traffic during a 30 minute commute to work everyday, we've gotten to know it very well. It accelerates very quick and smooth with no lag. No vibration or rattle after 3 months of all weather riding. Wear and rust is minimal on hardware...even after being left in the rain (Chinese acid rain, haha).

The scooter has pedals, so in most states it follows the same laws and registration as bicycles. The pedals act as foot rests since they do not spin when the scooter is moving, but can be used to activate the electric motor as an option.

Specifications:

  • Top speed: 25 mph (40km)
  • Range: 20 miles
  • System: 48 volt
  • Motor: 500 watt

Pictures, pricing and more specifications will be emailed to all of our dealers soon! By: Sean Lucas

Industry News

You asked for it and now we have it ...a scooter trunk selected based on our dealers' input.

Early this Spring we sent a survey out asking for your opinion on what features should be included in a scooter trunk/top case. We received a large response and would like to thank all of the dealers who participated. After the survey was over we looked at many different trunks because we feel that this is an important product for your business. These features are what we feel makes this top case "The Better Scooter Trunk".coocasetrunkopenlid

This case comes in one color-Black. This trunk can hold most full-face helmets.

Many dealers asked us to find a case with colors matching the scooters they sell, but we found too many different colors on scooters from China. We asked dealers if they can paint their own cases and most said it's not cost-effective.

In the end we think it will be easy to sell this case over a painted one once your customers see the advantages.

Interview: KC Corning- Pro Scooter Rider

KC Corning is a Professional Razor Scooter Rider with championships and awards won all over the world.

Please tell us about yourself and how you got started: For my 13th birthday I received a Micro kick scooter. It was a version of the Razor brand scooter from Huffy. I started jumping it off of curbs and ramps. I bought a Razor scooter and progressively started doing bigger and better tricks and riding in skate parks. In two years I turned Pro and started riding for Team Razor. I'm 22 now, so I've been riding pro for 7 years.

Who are your current sponsors? I currently ride for TSI (Trick Scooters International) www.trickscoot.com. It's a rider owned company and I'm a partner. We are scooter riders that make scooters...it's a win win. I have my own line of custom decks. Check one out today!

How many tricks can you do, which one is your favorite and are you working on any new ones? About 75 tricks total and right now I am really digging a trick called a "Decade". It's when I rotate my body around the handle bars while the body of the scooter does not move. I have a new trick called a "Fakie Nose Manual". I tip the scooter up on the front wheel and ride backwards...it looks really cool, but it's a hard to do.

Where has being a professional scooter rider taken you? I've traveled all over the US doing demonstrations for Team Razor. I've also been to Japan and Australia for their version of the X-games.

There is one of your videos linked below. Could you explain the preparation and filming process that goes into making one of these? (Click on the picture or here for the video)

kccorningvideoIt was filmed at a skate park in Beaverton, Oregon to promote a new Deck I designed. The video took a few hours to make and was a lot of fun. At the end I do a trick that is crazy! One miss step on that trick and it can be fatal. Seriously...don't try it at home.

What products would you like to see Partsforscooters.com carry that we currently do not have? You guys have a nice selection of kick scooter parts and you also sell the Razor Pro-Models for a really good price. I would like to see you carry the new TSI One-Piece Deck for Kick Scooters!
