KC Corning is a Professional Razor Scooter Rider with championships and awards won all over the world.
Please tell us about yourself and how you got started: For my 13th birthday I received a Micro kick scooter. It was a version of the Razor brand scooter from Huffy. I started jumping it off of curbs and ramps. I bought a Razor scooter and progressively started doing bigger and better tricks and riding in skate parks. In two years I turned Pro and started riding for Team Razor. I'm 22 now, so I've been riding pro for 7 years.
Who are your current sponsors? I currently ride for TSI (Trick Scooters International) www.trickscoot.com. It's a rider owned company and I'm a partner. We are scooter riders that make scooters...it's a win win. I have my own line of custom decks. Check one out today!
How many tricks can you do, which one is your favorite and are you working on any new ones? About 75 tricks total and right now I am really digging a trick called a "Decade". It's when I rotate my body around the handle bars while the body of the scooter does not move. I have a new trick called a "Fakie Nose Manual". I tip the scooter up on the front wheel and ride backwards...it looks really cool, but it's a hard to do.
Where has being a professional scooter rider taken you? I've traveled all over the US doing demonstrations for Team Razor. I've also been to Japan and Australia for their version of the X-games.
There is one of your videos linked below. Could you explain the preparation and filming process that goes into making one of these? (Click on the picture or here for the video)
It was filmed at a skate park in Beaverton, Oregon to promote a new Deck I designed. The video took a few hours to make and was a lot of fun. At the end I do a trick that is crazy! One miss step on that trick and it can be fatal. Seriously...don't try it at home.
What products would you like to see Partsforscooters.com carry that we currently do not have? You guys have a nice selection of kick scooter parts and you also sell the Razor Pro-Models for a really good price. I would like to see you carry the new TSI One-Piece Deck for Kick Scooters! |
